Kaluzne Vision Care is an independent optometry office located in Winston-Salem, NC. Meet Dr. Kaluzne
Dr. Stephen P. Kaluzne grew up around eye care his whole life. His father started the practice in 1978 and provided the community with the highest level of eye care for almost 35 years. In 2012, Dr. Kaluzne took over his father’s practice and continued his vision of creating the best eye care in Winston-Salem.
Dr. Kaluzne attended North Carolina State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He went on to attend Indiana University where he graduated with honors and received his Doctor of Optometry in 2008. While attending IU he completed rotations at the Huntington West Virginia VA, Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers, the Dayton Ohio VA and the Indiana School of Optometry Eye Clinic furthering his clinical skills.
Dr. Kaluzne is a member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina State Optometric Society, and the Winston-Salem Optometric Society.
Outside of the office Dr. Kaluzne enjoys spending time with his wife, two kids and dog. He also enjoys cooking, live music, cheering for the Wolfpack and Hoosiers and is a huge craft beer fan.

Meet Dr. Hyke
Dr. Roman Hyke grew up in a small town outside of Birmingham, Alabama. He earned his B.S. in Nutrition Sciences from the University of Alabama, graduating with honors in 2020, before pursuing his Doctor of Optometry degree at the UAB School of Optometry, where he graduated in 2024.
During his time at UAB, Dr. Hyke gained valuable experience through internships at the Tuscaloosa VA, UAB’s Ocular Disease and Specialty Contact Lens Clinic, and Day Eye Care in Alabama.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hyke enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs. He is an avid Alabama football fan, loves smoking food on his Big Green Egg, and enjoys hiking.
